30th Anniversary Roses and Pearl’s Gala

October 15,2022

We are very pleased at how our first in-person Gala since 2019 went!  We kept attendance lower which allowed us safer and more comfortable distancing for dinner –  this was appreciated by many.  We felt it was the perfect number of supporters spread throughout our large ground floor venue.  It will take time for us to rebuild the comfort of large social gatherings in this world and this is no exception. Baby steps.

Our grateful patient, Steven Jarve shared his heartwarming comments on the exceptional care he received while being critically ill and requiring in-patient care for over a month in our hospital.  The dinner by Carmen’s Catering was delectable!  Our guest auctioneer, David Finnila, was expertly talented at getting the crowd to raise their hands in support of our cause.  The Diva’s Through the Decades were the perfect entertainment for the evening; let’s just say that our auctioneer was a very good sport and nailed that Shania Shimmy! Take a minute and pop over to http://facebook.com/cloquetcmhfoundation/ for our live videos and many fun pics of the evening.

We have received so many compliments on the beautiful setting – guests shared how they felt they were at a glorious ball – instead of hospital café.  Our secret to making that transformation is simply a FABULOUS group of employee and family volunteers to set up and decorate with an overabundance of sparkly clear lights and beautiful draping fabric in all the right places.

Whether you sponsored, donated a dessert, a live, or a silent auction item, donated money, or simply attended in support…… you had a part in making it another very meaningful and impactful fundraiser for CMH.  Preliminary figures are looking like we raised just under $50k!

Thank you! YOU are the Foundation of CMH!

Congratulations to the defending champs!

WE SURE DIDN’T DROP THE BALL ON THIS ONE!

Cloquet Country Club was the July 18, 2022 setting for a very successful Third Annual Moose Memorial Golf Tournament, raising just under $10,000!

Great appreciation goes out to the 64 golfers who showed up in the spirit of good sportsmanship and enthusiastically made it through 18 holes on a record breaking hot and humid day out on the course.

The course is always beautiful and pristine, but we still need to thank Bill and his CCC crew for their extra work in ensuring that the course and clubhouse were ready for our group. Beatsie’s delicious BBQ pork and sweet pepper slaw did not disappoint, and the bartenders were ready for the gang!

Without Moose’s life-long friend and tournament organizer, Steve Korby, this event wouldn’t exist.  Steve’s desire to honor Moose’s life is the driving force that made this day so special and memorable in many ways. The sense of community, competition, and camaraderie felt throughout the day was on some level, well – emotional.

The CCMH Foundation Board of Directors and myself are deeply honored that CCMH Foundation was once again chosen as the charity of choice in Moose’s memory. You can be assured that the dollars raised will be used to support and enhance the care provided for cancer patients at CMH.

Wine and Beer Tasting Fundraiser - May 2022

As warm weather returned to Cloquet this past May, so did the annual Wine and Beer Tasting Fundraiser.  The Cloquet Country Club, with it’s large outdoor patio space, combined with the indoor bar and dining area was the perfect setting for this well-attended event.

Supporters came out in record numbers and helped us raise the highest-ever-amount of money in the history of this annual spring event – topping out at just under $30,000! That’s some awesome support!

At the core of our Foundation’s work are the patients at Community Memorial Hospital and CMH Raiter Family Clinic, and the residents at Sunnyside Health Care Center.  All proceeds from this event will support the CMH organization and will go a long way to help fund new state-of-the-art equipment that will elevate their already award-winning patient and resident care.

We extend a very gracious thank you to our major sponsors – Boldt Company, Compeer Financial, Reliable Insurance Agency, Ray Riihiluoma Inc., Northern Industrial Insulation, Radiologists Associated in Duluth, and Edward Jones- Brett Loeb. In addition, we thank all other sponsors, supporters, and attendees!
